When it comes to mealtimes, there’s plenty of choice for Nanyima residents.
We’re well into the cooler months and Chef Sharanjeet and the catering team have been extra busy preparing delicious, warming meals using this season’s freshest produce.
In the household dining rooms, residents gather to enjoy conversation and their winter warmer favourites such as lamb roast, pork steak, chicken parmigiana, slow cooked beef burgundy and delicious baked vegetables. After their main meal, they’re tucking into mouthwatering desserts like sticky date pudding, rice pudding or orange almond cake.
Menus are prepared on site with input from residents and reviewed by a dietitian. Sharanjeet says they change regularly to ensure residents enjoy the best of each season. “We have just started our new menu and made sure we’ve included their favourite dishes and that there are plenty of choices at every meal to cater for everyone’s individual needs and tastes,” she says.
Manager, Bien, says socialisation at mealtimes is just as important as the nutritious food itself. “We encourage residents to enjoy their meals together in our welcoming dining rooms. Joy and connection are great for our health too,” she says.
